SOUTH AFRICA, IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

U.S. citizens (U.S. passport holders) visiting the Republic of South Africa for ninety (90) days or less for tourism / business purposes do not need visas. Limpopo is South Africa’s most northerly province. It is named after the river which forms the border between South Africa on the one side and Zimbabwe and Botswana on the other. The hunting areas we use are all Malaria free. But make sure to visit your nearest travel clinic for the compulsory immunizations needed to visit Africa. The currency in use in South Africa is the ZAR (R) Rand. The winter climate in South Africa is very moderate, with cool evenings and mild during the day.

To import your firearms: You may bring up to 3 firearms per hunter (however most airlines limit you to 2) and 200 rounds of ammo per firearm but again airline regulations allow only 5 kg or 11 lbs of ammo per passenger.

You will need the following:

1. Valid passport

2. Return Airline ticket

3. Letter of Invitation from your Hunting Outfitter.

4. Proof of Ownership

5. Notarized copy of Proof of ownership of your firearm(s) in the form of:

• Custom Form CBP Form 4457- (contact your nearest airport for this)

• A letter from your local sheriff in the form of an affidavit confirming ownership, or Invoice from a gun shop where you have purchased the firearm(s)

• Proof of export from country of origin(CBP Form 4457- Certificate of Registration for personal effects taken abroad)

• Letter of Motivation ( A letter written by yourself to motivate why you wish to import rifles)

• Complete the temporary firearm import permit application (SAP520) in advance if possible and bring it with you.

NB! It is important to note that the form must be completed in black ink and must remain unsigned until the document is finalized in front of the police official issuing the actual permit at the airport. Download the guide to complete the form SAP520 Please do not hesitate to contact us if any of the information provided above is not clear or if you have any questions. We are only a phone call away, to guide you through the process. REMEMBER THE ISSUING OF THE TEMPORARY IMPORT PERMITS AT THE PORT OF ENTRY IS FREE OF CHARGE. Hunting season: All farms have exemption to hunt all year round. Most popular months to hunt are April until September. The temps during the winter months are 70-90 F, warms up during the day, so dress in layers is the best.
